“I used to watch it all the time with my kids but when I’m alone I talk to myself in a squeaky Spongebob voice and rub a rusted knife across my wrists” – Cathy

Dr Green states this is not normal behavior for someone of sound mind but the frequent disturbing images and sounds on show Spongebob make viewers want to do the same things in reality.

Dr Green states People tend to mimic the faces in the mirror to themselves or throughout the day until they cannot control it. Spongebob depics mild acts of violence seemingly harmless but in reality a fork being swallowed by a person can kill them.

Would you make faces or weird sounds around your boss at your job? No? Most people after watching spongebob do and cannot help it and thats called psychosis. – Dr. Green

“I sometimes make faces without even realizing it and it scares me. Now I know why.” – Selena

Dr. Green did a survey of 15,000 parents and children who watched the show and 75% indicated they did mimic and pretend to be Spongebob when alone by making faces and screaming for no reason.

The extent of suicide was based on people getting so annoyed by the screeching sound of Spongebob they wanted to kill themselves. Spongebob Squarepants airs on Nickelodeon
